The Xiaomi brand is coming up with yet another device to cater to the smartphone lovers. There are many brands in the field of smartphone making, but this Chinese brand has progressed a lot in a short span that has posed a threat to the market leaders in the field also. As far as the Android phone is concerned the company does not possess a long history. It has been hardly three years when the company has started to spread its business in the field of the smartphone. However, it has studied the mindset of the buyers as well as the market well before launching the devices. It has offered some of the most demanding features in its medium range models, and hence in a few months only, the company was able to have a huge customer base. As the buyers were satisfied with its previous models, now whenever the company makes an announcement of new models, they wait for its launching.
In the coming days, there
are some more models being launched by the company, and one of them is the
device Xiaomi Mi Note 2. The model boasts of amazing features, and hence it has
created much hype before its official launching also.
This device is called the
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 and is likely to be launched in June 2017. It will run on the
Android v6.0 OS, which is also known as Marshmallow. Xiaomi Mi Note 2 price
in India is expected to be Rs.27, 990.
The price falls in mid-section price range for smartphones. But the features it
has are slate to make it worth it. One of its unique features is that it is
claimed to be the fastest phone with Dual-Core processor.
The networks supported will
be 4G, 3G as well as 2G which can be used through 2 SIM cards on this dual SIM
phone. Extra security is provided in the form of the fingerprint sensor, and
the device charges pretty quickly too. Hence those who need to store data on
the device can use its enhanced security features that can offer great safety
to the data. The fast charging can help one who has limited time to charge the
device but still need to use it for a long time.
Design and Display
The signature display of the
Xiaomi phablet is visible in this handset as well. With a 156.22 mm height,
77.3 mm width and 7.3 mm thickness, this phone provides for a very good design
and look. However, the weight which is 166 grams is much below average. The
build material used for the front case as well as the back is aluminium. The colour
variants available in this device are only two. These include Piano Black and
Glacier Silver. Hence it is much useful for the professional users rather the
casuals.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 boasts a 5.7-inch AMOLED
3D Touch Touchscreen of full HD resolution (1,080 x 1,920 pixels). This
provides lifelike and clear picture quality with bright colours. The display of
the phone has extra protection too in the form of a coating with Gorilla glass.
This would provide good resistance against scratches and cracks. Among the leading devices in the smartphone
market, this device is much famous due to its display result. Hence those who
love to view videos and images can go for it.
Performance and Storage
The device packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chip
which seemingly is the newest and the best chip from the top chipset
manufacturer. The performance is claimed to be the best in class with a Quad
Core (2.35 GHz, Dual core, Kryo + 2 GHz, Dual core, Kryo) processor. The
architecture of the phone is 64 bit, and the graphics are supported by Adreno
530. However, the best feature of the phone is its fast processing and the
agility it provides while multi-tasking or using multiple apps at the same.
This is because the Mi Note 2 features 4GB RAM placing it close to the elite
league consisting of phones like OnePlus 3, LeEco Le 3 Pro, etc.
For the storage, the inbuilt storage of the
phone itself is a whopping 64GB. However, the downside to this device is that
it doesn’t have expandable memory. It does have a USB OTG support.
Camera and Battery
This phablet is furnished with a 22.5 MP
primary camera which features autofocus, optical image stabilization, and
dual-colour LED flash. The video recording over the primary camera is possible
at 3840x2160 @ 30 fps, 1920x1080 @ 30 fps and even 1280x720 @ 120 fps.
The front camera is an 8MP one with an Exmor RS
sensor. It does provide the flash feature. The video recording for the front
camera can be done at 1920x1080 @ 30 fps.
The power of the device comes from a 3,600mAh Li-polymer
battery. However, this is a non-removable battery. But this flipside more than
makes up for the fact that it charges very quickly.
Network and Connectivity
Connectivity options available in the Xiaomi Mi
Note 2 include dual-SIM, 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11, a/ac/b/g/n/n 5GHz, mobile hotspot,
Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and microUSB 2.0.
The phablet even comes with a fingerprint
sensor providing the much needed extra security to protect the data stored in
the device. This fingerprint sensor position is provided in the front portion
of the device. The sensors included in this device are proximity,
accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer and compass. The multimedia options include
a loudspeaker and a 3.5 mm audio jack. Another feature the phone lacks is an FM
Radio.
Verdict
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 boasts of many worthy
features and provisions. This was much
needed for the Xiaomi brand to take back all the focus which was diverted to
other smartphones like OnePlus and OnePlus three which took away the spotlight
from Xiaomi’s Mi5.
The downsides of the phone include a
non-removable battery and the absence of an FM Radio. However, the other
features on this model make it worth to buy.
